NY Jets Cheerleaders Win Lawsuit

New York. The Jets cheerleaders have won a class action lawsuit against the NFL franchise the New York Jets. The settlement covered the 2012-13 and the 2013-14 NFL seasons. Fifty-two cheerleaders will be paid $324,000 in total which will cover transportation, hair and make-up costs incurred by the cheerleaders. The settlement will also cover practice and photo shoots which the ladies were never paid for. Cheerleaders in the NFL and AFL are only paid $150 per game. Cheerleaders who spread joy for teams in other sports industries don’t fair much better. NBA cheerleaders are only paid between $50 and $100 per game whereas the ice crew for NHL teams such as the New York Rangers are only paid $50 per game.
