Sunday night at the VMA’s Miley Cyrus did something way out of the norm once again. Except there was a significant difference between her erotic performance last year and the act of kindness she showed that night.
On this important night Miley Cyrus brought Jesse Helt, a homeless man from the streets of LA, as her date to the Emmy’s. After winning the award for Video of the Year she sat aside and let Helt share a little about himself and accept the award on Cyrus’ behalf. He invited viewers into his life and expressed how he and millions of others live,"I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know, because I am one of those people.”
His speech brought Miley Cyrua and many others to tears. Miley also uploaded a video to her Facebook page promoting her fight against homelessness through My Friend’s Place, a homeless center for youth.
