Former Mayor of New Orleans Sentenced to 10 Years


Justice Falls on Former Mayor of New Orleans

Ray Nagin, the infamous Former Mayor of New Orleans, was sentenced Wednesday, July 9th, to 10 years in prison. The former politician, who rose to fame during Hurricane Katrina, was found guilty in February of bribery, fraud, and other charges related to criminal activity which occurred in the aftermath of the deadly storm which struck in August 2005. In addition, Nagin must pay $82,000 in restitution. His sentence will commence September 8th in Oakdale Prison, Louisiana.
