Cheesecake Factory Tops Unhealthy List

Every year the Center for Science in the Public Interest holds the "Xtreme Eating" Contest to find out which restaurants offer the unhealthiest meals in America. This year, The Cheesecake Factory has 3 dishes in the top 9 unhealthiest dishes in the country. At the number two spot on the list is Cheesecake Factory's Bruleed French Toast which is claimed to be "The Best French Toast Ever" by their Sunday Brunch Menu. You would never think by looking at the picture that the meal is 2,780 calories, 93 grams of saturated fat, 2,230 milligrams of sodium and 24 teaspoons of sugar. You would need to run for almost 5 hours just to burn this off. If this isn't enough for you, The Cheesecake Factory also offers the French Toast Napoleon which is just like the Bruleed French Toast but topped of with strawberries, pecans and Chantilly cream bringing it up to 2,900 calories.

Also on the list is Cheesecake Factory's Farfalle with Chicken and Roasted Garlic. Sounds healthy enough, right? It has bow-tie pasta, chicken, mushrooms,  peas, pancetta, tomatoes and caramelized onions. You would think you've got all four food groups covered so you should be in pretty good shape but when you add in the Roasted Garlic Parmesan Cream Sauce this dish becomes 2,410 calories, 63 grams of saturated fat (more than you should have in 3 days) and 1,370 milligrams of sodium. If you love to swim, you can burn this off in about 7 hours doing so.

The list wouldn't seem right without at least one cheesecake making it. Thanks to the Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake, one of  the restaurant's signature items has made it to the Xtreme Eating List. This yummy mountain of goodness (yes I'm guilty of eating this, but in my defense it was my birthday) is 1,500 calories, 43 grams of saturated fat and 21 teaspoons of sugar.  What did you expect? Anything with both Cake and Cheesecake in its name has to have a lot of calories. So next time you are waiting to be seated at The Cheesecake Factory (which can be 2 hours on the weekends) think about what you will choose to eat wisely because most likely, with the right combination, you will get all the calories you need for a few days.
